Research Interest


I  received my Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biology.Currently, I am a Master's student in Computer Science at NYU. I joined Bud Mishra's lab a year ago and during this time was involved in research concerning computational analysis of transduction pathways and problems of biological network reconstruction.

My first project (done in collaboration of Paolo Barbano and Jiawu Feng) uses time-frequency analysis to distinguish different modes of operation of biological systems and to determine whether a given biological system can have more than one steady state. This question is interesting from biological point of view because the ability to reach different steady states makes the same pathway capable of mediating very different processes.

My second project (I am still working on it in collaboration with Paolo Barbano) addresses problems of biological network reconstruction. Often, the main regulatory connections among network components have already been discovered from biological experiments, but the exhaustive map of interactions in a network remains unknown. However, this knowledge is important because the extra-connections can modify a system's behavior in a way that?s not evident from the information about main regulatory mechanisms.
